You have to learn a new skill. Do you prefer to read about it, watch someone else do it, hear someone describe it, or try it yourself?
How you learn a new skill really depends on what the skill is. And what fits you best.
Some things are easily tought by watching someone else do it. Other things are better tought by reading about it.
For me it really does depend on the skill. When I studied to be a nurse, the proceedings I learned best by watching someone else do it a couple of times. The theoretical side I just read one time and it stuck in my mind (oh the joys of an eiditic memory).
With sewing I just try and try again until I finally figure it out. But sometimes looking something up on youtube helps.
So without clarifying what skill I have to learn, I can’t really give an answer to this question. It depends.
